Youth National Education Funding Scheme
Purpose
Introduction
The Commission on Youth (the Commission) is going to launch a new funding scheme in 2009, namely Youth National Education Funding Scheme, to sponsor community organisations to organise large scale or a series of activities in order to promote national education in an in-depth manner amongst the Hong Kong youth, enhance their understanding of our home country and strengthen their sense of national identity. The projects should include the following four elements :
- The organisations should set a theme for the projects and to plan the activities accordingly.
- The projects should include large scale or a series of activities to promote national education amongst youth. The activities should be held both in Hong Kong and in the Mainland.
- The activities in the Mainland should include exchange programmes with the Mainland people, voluntary services, training courses, seminars, practical work placement etc. with a view to enhancing the Hong Kong youth’s understanding of their home country.
- The projects should include an assessment mechanism to evaluate how youth’s understanding of their home country and their sense of national identity have been enhanced; and how they have shared their experience with and promoted the scheme to members of the community, the youth in particular.
The projects must be carried out and completed between 1 July 2009 and 31 December 2010.
